I am a self-taught artist who loves nature and paints beautifully detailed flowers, birds, and humorous beach characters. For thirty-eight years reading, math, science, and social studies filled my life along with raising my two sons. So when I retired and my children married I decided to take my mom's advice and give art a try. Since I was no longer confined to a classroom and my children were grown my new found freedom led us on many trips to the beach, gave me time to smell the flowers, and I seemed to acquire a new set of ears that were attuned to the sweet sound of the birds. Gradually during the six years of experimenting with acrylic and oil paint, graphite, and colored pencils the foundation of my paintings developed into what I hope you will see as "nature breathing through my art".
